What are the basic rules of tackle football?

Basic Rules for regular organized football

• You must have eleven players on the field
• You have four tries to get a first down
• If you do not obtain the first down you turn the ball over to the other team
• The quarterback cannot cross the line of scrimmage
• You cannot hit a receiver before he touches the football
• You cannot hold a defensive or offensive player
• You cannot tackle a person by there face mask
• If you run out of bounds or a tackled you are down
• You must make it to the other teams endzone to score or you can kick a field goal
• The offensive line cannot move until the ball is snapped
• The defense cannot cross the line before the ball is snapped
• You cannot drive your helmet into a player gut (spearing)
• You can't hit the quateback after he has thrown the football unless he is blocking
