How are points awarded in Formula 1 racing?

Points in Formula 1 racing are awarded based on the finishing position of the drivers in each race. The driver who finishes in first place earns the most points, with subsequent positions earning fewer points. The driver with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the World Champion.
