To bleed a K-Series engine’s cooling system, start by ensuring the engine is cold and the radiator cap is removed. Fill the radiator with coolant to the top, then locate the bleed valve, typically found on the thermostat housing or near the top of the engine. With the heater set to maximum, start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature; this helps circulate coolant. Once the thermostat opens, any trapped air will escape through the bleed valve, so keep an eye on the coolant level and top it off as necessary until no more air bubbles come out.
