What amount of of the earth contains life?

The biOSphere, where life exists, extends from the highest parts of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans. Life can be found in all ecosystems on Earth, but the majority of it is concentrated in a relatively thin layer on the Earth's surface called the ecosphere. This layer extends from several kilometers above the Earth's surface to several kilometers below it.
