However later in the book Curley's wife also abuses her power as women against crooks by threatening him, "I could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain't even funny."Curley's wife shows she is weak as she confesses that she doesn't like Curley, because she has made herself seem weak she then attacks the other men, crooks in particular as he is the cleverest of the three men, he is also similar to Curley's wife as he is clever (he reads a lot) but is still mistreated because he is black. Curley's wife is also clever and manipulative but is mistreated as she is a woman. She attacks these men in hope of becoming the leader of the weak and pathetic group consisting of "a nigg*r an' a dum-dum and a lousy ol' sheep."

so basicaly its so she can gain control of the lame group.
