How do you take of an infected lip ring?

All piercings need to be cleaned daily, even once they are healed, matter can build up in the piercing and turn causing and infection. Cleaning is not rocket science, a good mild liquid antibacterial soap lathered and applied, then rinsed off with warm running water ( I suggest the shower is a good place to do this ) done daily to all your piercings. An infected piercing properly cleaned in this manner will turn around in about 24 ~ 48 hours. You don't need "healing or cleaning agents" H2Ocean, Dragon Mist, BiOSeptic, Bactine, Polysporin, Neosporin or pierced ears solution these agents are misused or over used and in them selves can cause issues with piercings. When selecting an antibacterial soap avoid liquid Dial or any over perfumed or colored soaps, I recommend antibacterial "Soft Soap Aquarium" liquid anti bacterial soap, it's low in perfume, color and works very well if used correctly. That's a pea sized amount lathered and diluted with a little water, applied and rinsed thoroughly with warm water while moving the jewellery to rinse out the piercing.
