What is captions illustrations?

Caption Illustrations are usually drawings that have a line or two printed below them. The captions can be dialogue spoken by a character portrayed in the drawing, such as a New Yorker cartoon, or can be used to underscore or even contradict by juxtaposition, as in a Smokey the Bear PSA that reads "Only You..."
