What are the impacts of defilement?

Firstly, this is dependant upon how the Word is used i.e

1."Just by their being there, they had defiled the chamber"

2."She defiled him"

The impacts also vary widely, for instance;

1."By defiling the chamber they would be forever cursed" (quite a bad impact)

2."Because she had defiled him he felt pretty dirty" (also quite a bad impact, but that was a long time ago I'm pretty much over it for the most part now.)
