What is a tchotchke?

The Word "tchotchke" (tsotchke) is from the Slavic-Yiddish for "toy" or "trinket", and is used to describe small items of little value, such as knickknacks or kitsch.

A modern use is as a synonym for "swag", free promotional items distributed by manufacturers or exhibitors.
