Why change numeric information into graphs and charts?

so that the numeric information is easy to read and to make information look more professional. and it also easier to identyfy the changes in the numbers e.g. if making a graph of profit it is easier to identyfy profit going down. also numbers can also get very monotonous and maybe too complicated to identyfy.
