Nothing from a human's medicine cabinet - human anti-inflammatory drugs like Tylenol, Aleve, aspirin, Advil and other related drugs are fairly toxic to dogs and can cause fatal stomach ulcers.

If your dog is suffering from a severe inflammation, your veterinarian can prescribe either a dog-safe NSAID like Rimadyl (carprofen) or a steroid like prednisone depending upon the location, severity and underlying cause of the inflammation. However, the inflammation itself is typically just a symptom caused by the immune system trying to handle a problem; this underlying problem needs to be identified and addressed to truly resolve the inflammation.
