When do boys become circumcised in the hospital?

Circumcision is a religious or cultural custom used mainly by Jews and Muslims. Jews are required to have it done to their babys at the age of 8 days while Muslims can wait till the child is much older. In English speaking country s a convention has developed during the Victorian era where baby's were being circumcised within a couple of days of being born. the original reasoning at the time was that it would stop boys masturbating. the reasoning has changed in modern times but this barbaric traumatic and painful practice is still being maintained for no good medical reason, especially in the US.
