How are Chevrolet 350 cylinders numbered?

Looking at the engine, from the front, toward the back,they are 1,3,5,7 on the left side and 2,4,6,8 front to back on the right

Close - from the front of the engine, it's 1,3,5,7 on the right (driver's side) and 2,4,6,8 on the left (passenger's side. All Chevy small blocks and big blocks are the same as this.
