What is a eye doctor?

There are two main categories of eye doctors. An optometrist is who one normally goes to for vision checks and glasses. They go to specialized training for four years, and receive a degree. They do not, however, attend medical school. An Ophthalmologist is a medical Doctor Who specializes in the eyes. They do attend medical school. They tend to treat more serious eye conditions and perform surgeries.
