A cell phone is actually very helpful. If you got stranded, you could call someone, because you really can't take your home phone with you. If you needed to talk to someone while you were at a store or in the car, it's very helpful. If your home phone broke, your cell phone would be helpful. You're most likely to get stuck in one of these situations at least once in your life, so if you don't have one, consider getting a cell phone.
