Why is vetrans day a national holiday?

because at first it was called armistice day. armistice is a treaty countries signed to end World War 1. it was dedicated to the cause of world peace. later on people thought of calling it Veterans Day to honor ALL veterans and not just the ones that served in world war 1. you can read more about it on wikipedia.
