The trickster is neither good nor bad. He or she uses his wits rather than physical strength or might to trick and get the best of animals far greater than he. He is usually a selfish animal with strong appetites, irresponsible and foolish, yet very clever. He elicits sympathy from the readers is humorous and loveable.
