What is disvantage of powder coating or drawback of powder coating.?

1. powder coating price is usually higher than traditional liquid paint.

2. color selections is limited. lots color cannot be recreated or fine-tune by mixing.

3. for the best result, acrylic coat is highly suggested to appply additionaly.

4.only high quality color powder can help to achieve a nicer, flatter surface finish, which results no visible texture in close look.

5. remove powder coat required chemical mathod cuz sandblasting does not work on its hard surface.

6. transferable stickers cannot be coated with acrylic finish, because the sticker cannot take the needed heat treatment for the formation of acrylic laver.

7.While it is relatively easy to apply thick coatings which have smooth texture-free surfaces, it is difficult to apply smooth thin films. Also powder coatings may break down when exposed to uv rays between 5 to 10 years.

Disadvantages of Powder Coating

1. Very thin coatings can show pinholes

2. Very frequent colour changes can be time consuming

3. Inside corners can have low film thickness

4. Can be tricky on sharp corners

5. Needs expertise to maintain uniformity of thickness

6. Colour matching and uniformity can be harder than with liquid paints
