What does it mean when a suspension settles?

• If you mean during a repair and wheel alignment this is why you "jounce" the car to make the suspension assume its normal place like it was going down the road.
• If you are talking about cornering the car settles and does not need correction to remain steady in the corner.
• If we are talking about racing it means the suspension and car are stable and correctable in the corner, if the car is unstable in the corner the car is slow.
