Why is clay soil suitable for pottery?

Clay is suitable fore making pots and other objects because it is easy to mold and when it starts to dry before you are ready you can just add water. Also if you make it properly it is hard to break. It is also a Natural Resorse you can find almost anywhere in the world. There is different types and colors of clay so some are suitable for certain pots :) plus, clay is easier to mold that rocks and stays together better than sand or mud etc. :) hope I helped
