I recently had dental surgery and it went great. I got a small relaxant pill and some nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and then an IV. If you are worried about the iv being painful it is not. It feels like a small pin prick and the doctor usually talks to you so that you are distracted. After the iv went in i felt like was just sitting in the chair for about a minute and then they were helping me stand up. It was that easy and i didn't feel a thing. You have nothing to worry about.
