What does it mean if a guy you bearly know waves and says hi and your name everytime you see each other?

it means hes just a sad loner looking for a friend nothing more..if he dosent want a friend it means he hates you..trying to say i know you but leave me ALONE mayb but he has loads of friends...and he does it in a nice way...is it not a sign that he is interested??
