Green tea is the healthiest tea. Both black and Green tea are made from the same tea plant-camellia sinensis. But unlike black tea which is fermented, Green is steamed. Steaming preserves most of the poly phenols found in tea leaves as well as the other health benefiting constituents of tea.
However, it has been proven that black tea lowers the level of LDL the "bad" cholesterol. A study in the Netherlands found that men who drank 4 cups of black, unsweetened tea a day had lower levels of LDL and a reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.
