Lisinopril is not a direct vasodilator; rather, it is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. By inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, it reduces vasoconstriction and subsequently lowers blood pressure. This results in a vasodilatory effect, but it does so indirectly through the inhibition of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
