Körbel is originally a South German surname, and is a diminutive of Korb; meaning "Basket."
I feel that the German version may also stem from the name Körbl... a diminutive of Korbinian, taken to mean "Raven."
Having said that, it is also a metonymic occupational Czech surname, which was dubbed for a maker of drinking vessels-- from korbel; "Tankard."
Corbel is an English Word, too, basically meaning "To Set" (as in bricks, stone, lumber, etc.)
