What is the difference between VMC and drill tap center?

A drill/tap center is a specialized VMC. They are typically relatively small, 30 taper machines - lightweight and very fast. They Excel in applications with light milling, multiple tools, and short cycle times. The surfacing, drilling, and tapping of casting mating surfaces is a good example.
