Did the Sadducees oppose Jesus because His teachings didn't match Scripture?

They opposed him because his teachings did not match their legalistic interpretation of scripture and he refused to be the political Messiah they were expecting to free them from Roman rule.

They opposed the oral law (they were also in opposition to the Pharisee), accepting only the Pentateuch as the ultimate authority. They were materialistic in outlook and did not believe in life after death or any reward or punishment beyond this life. They denied the existence of angels and demons. They did not believe that God was concerned with what people did. They were politically oriented supports of ruling powers, they were the aristocrats of the time. They wanted nothing to threaten their position and wealth, so they strongly opposed Jesus.
