Do you need lessons to go snorkeling?

Snorkeling is not too much of a difficult thing and is easy to teach your self if you are in a safer environment. If you tried teaching yourself how to snorkel in a pool/lake where you can touch, or right off of a coast where you can also touch and there is no waves would be ideal. If you don't have access to any of these beginner areas, I would advise a payed lesson or one from a friend, just to ensure safety.
