Why do you come out wet when you go to water?

When you go into water, you get wet because water molecules cling to your skin and clothing. As you enter, the water displaces air and coats your body, resulting in moisture on your surface. Additionally, any movement in the water causes splashes, further increasing the amount of water that comes into contact with you. This combination of immersion and displacement leads to the sensation of being wet.
