Helen Keller adapted to her blindness and deafness by relying on her other senses, such as touch and smell, to navigate through the world. She learned to communicate through sign language and lip reading, and eventually through tactile sign language and braille. With the help of her teacher, Anne Sullivan, Keller was able to overcome her disabilities and become a renowned writer and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.
