Is the sentence her eyes and nose were the complements of his beauty correct?

This is a somewhat odd sentence, which I would phrase differently. It would work better as "her eyes and nose complemented his appearance". Although men can be beautiful, the term us usually reserved for women. Women are beautiful, men are handsome.
