If you've never held a credit card, your initial credit score will depend on how promptly you have paid any utility bills held in your name, and the length of time you've been at your current address. It will also depend on whether you've ever had any Count Court Judgements (CCJs) agains your name. If your payment history is good, and you've never had any CCJs - your credit score should be around 350.

You could check your credit score - by registering with a site such as 'Clearscore'. They'll ask you some questions about you, your home and your past credit history - and create a score based on the info you give. My own score is currently 464 out of 700 - but I've been at my current address for 13 years, always paid my utility bills on time, and never had any CCJs.
