What is Calvinist belief?

Calvinism is a Protestant doctrine that emphasizes the sovereignty of God in all aspects of life, including salvation. It teaches that God predestines some individuals for eternal life while others are predestined for damnation, based on his will alone. Calvinists also stress the total depravity of humanity and the need for God's grace for salvation.
