What events lead up to Pentecost?

Leading up to Pentecost, Jesus was crucified, died, and resurrected, appearing to his disciples over forty days to teach and prepare them for their mission. After his ascension, he instructed them to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit. Following this, the disciples gathered in prayer and unity, as they observed the Jewish festival of Shavuot, which celebrates the giving of the Torah. It was during this festival that the Holy Spirit descended upon them, empowering them to spread the message of Jesus.
