What is the part under the hood opener on driver side Volvo s80 2002?

On a 2002 Volvo S80, the hood release lever is located on the driver's side, typically near the left side of the footwell, just above the brake pedal. It usually has a small icon of a car with an open hood on it. Pulling this lever will release the hood latch, allowing you to open the hood from the front of the vehicle. After pulling the lever, you may need to use the secondary latch located at the front of the hood for full access.
