Why was Harry Truman's nickname 'Haberdasher Harry'?

After leaving the army, Truman had a number of jobs. He opened a hat store in 1922 which subsequently failed. Thus, "Haberdasher Harry". Likely given to him by his political opponents to belittle him in the eyes of the electorate.
