What do the different piercings meanpiercing mean?

Body piercing as it is known today has no roots in symbolic significance. Today it is done solely for adorment and nothing else. Anyone trying to say anything to the contrary is usually going to be a contrived and psuedo-intellectual trying to say that this piercing is for this, and that for that. It is a way to stay tied to our primitive origins and to keep a good grounding in the physical and a way to learn and tolerate physical pain, which makes you more adept to handle internal pain, but this is usually not always the case.
