Consent is an agreement to give PERMISSION between two or more people. Sexual Consent is when one person gives the other permission to have sex with them. Regardless of age, consent must be given in order for sex to NOT be considered Rape. Some guy that gets a girl drunk & has sex with her, could be charged with RAPE if she wakes up in the morning & decides the only reason she had sex was the alcohol.
- If Consent, "permission" is not given, then the other person would be committing Rape or at least assault.
- One of the key issues for Consent to have consenting sex is the legal consideration of who is able to Grant consent. In most states legal consent is limited to people 16 years & above and of a competent mental ability. that is Specifically to protect people who are mentally unable to understand whats going on. If you get someone feeble minded to say yes it doesn't count and would still be considered RAPE.
- Until you are over 16 your parent or guardian is in control of your body and your ability to give consent, whether you like it or not.
- Sex with someone under 16 that says they "Consent" is still a crime and makes the perpetrator a sex offender and could be arrested.
- Even if both parties are under 16, it is still against the law and both could be charged and their parents could be in trouble for letting it happen.
- Sooo Consent is kind of a big legal deal!
