Do people of France eat horse meat?

i have experience with horse meat to Belgium one fact that i learnt

every thing is opposite to beef or lamb

horse meat is more tender the older the beast this means the best horse meat you could possibly acquire would be when the horse was about to drop dead from old age,

one thing people should be aware of, if horses are left with no intervention from predators, all will die a very agonising and painful death as horses spend probably 99% of there life standing and as they get older suffer from all sorts of muscle and bone complaints
