How many people in the United States are gay?

As of July 2011 the USA's population is 311,591,917(Source: U.S. Census Bureau). Scientists believe that a conservative estimate of the worlds population to be between 4 and 10 percent Gay & Lesbian, therefore the minimum 4% amount would be 12,463,676 Gay & Lesbian. Bisexuals are believed to make up about another 25 to 45 percent, so that number may not be a valid reflection of actual same-sex relationships possibilities.
