When was the Customs and Border Patrol founded?

The agency was formed in 1928. In 2003, along with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Enforcement Branch, they were brought under the administration of The Secretary of Homeland Security, a newly formed cabinet level department established after the 9-11 attacks.

While their duties and some of their missions may overlap with their companion agency, the main mission of the Border Patrol is the active patrol and the security of the nations borders against the entry of illegal immigrants and smuggling.
