How you ever adopted a non traditional approach to manage or handle a situation related to child?

I had handle a student who as the capacity to do well but had some personal problem in home regarding his mother's misconduct with a person living near by. This effected the boy's heart deeply and started to sit alone in the class. I noticed it and helped him to get out form the problem
