Who is amber Valletta mother dad?

Amber Valleta's father was my college professor at San Diego State University. I was a kinesiology major and he was one of my professors at the time (around 2001). He was a very friendly and jolly teacher (his first name was Jon) and he had, unfortunately, cancer at the time. He remained positive, helpful and good-natured. I hope he is ok. If she ever happens to read this, he always spoke of her as such a proud father! He always told us stories of his daughter, who was a model, but never said how big of a model she was. Just sounded like a father..I always assumed that she was a JC PENNY model or something and one day I said aloud, "What does your daughter model for" and someone said she hosts MTV house of Fashion and I said,"AMBER VALLETA!?!?!" And he just smiled and looked like a proud Daddy:-)
