Is a saber-toothed fish extinct

The sabretooth or sabertooth fish is not extinct. Belonging to the family Evermannellidae, there are eight known species which can be found throughout tropical and subtropical waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. Very little is known about these fish as they are found at depths of 200 to 400m.
