Will rayon shrink when washed?

Rayon has a tendency to shrink when washed, especially if exposed to hot water or high heat during drying. To prevent shrinkage, it is recommended to hand wash rayon in cold water or use a gentle cycle on the washing machine and lay flat to dry.
