There are as many answers to this question as there are Girl Scout volunteers. It might be as simple as having been a Girl Scout member and wanting to continue to volunteer. Or having a daughter who is involved in Girl Scouts so the parents volunteer. It might be to fill a need - a Girl Scout troop needs a driver or someone with First Aid/CPR training or someone with expertise in a particular topic who volunteers to share that with the girls. It might be because someone asked for a volunteer. Some troop leaders are unable to have children of their own, so have volunteered with Girl Scouts.
