According to "Ask a Scientist, " a bar of gold at Fort Knox is 400 oz. which if you divide it by 16 oz. per pound, is 25 pounds. That is heavy, but not impossible to lift for most people. If gold is selling for $1,000.00 per ounce, then the bars would be worth $400,000.00 - Wow!
