What was the food like for German soldiers during World War 1?

During the war the soldiers did not have a very good food supply at all. They didn't even have enough water they had to eat what ever food they could get and that wasnt much. All the food was a big sloppy mess. It looked disgusting but they had to eat it to stay alive. They had bread, porridge, meat casserole most of the time.
