To remove the fuel pump from a 2003 Ford Escape V6, first relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and running the engine until it stalls. Next, disconnect the battery and drain the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle by unbolting the straps and disconnecting the fuel lines and electrical connectors. Finally, access the fuel pump by removing the retaining ring on the top of the tank and lifting out the fuel pump assembly.
