How does SF6 circuit breaker works?

SF6 circuit breakers operate by using sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas as an insulating and quenching medium. When a fault occurs, the circuit breaker opens, and the SF6 gas quickly extinguishes the arc generated by the interruption of the electrical current. The high electronegativity of SF6 allows it to absorb free electrons, effectively interrupting the current flow.
